First Show Recap

Approximate Reading Time: 1 min. 5 sec.
This morning was my first show on the radio. It was from 7am-11am and I played a total of 60 songs, shown below:

For my first day on the air I thought I did pretty good. Things were slow for the first hour, and then the requests came pouring in. From phone, email, and instant messenger. I had about 50 requests over the entire period, but could really only find about 22 of the songs. I also didnt get to about 7 or 8 phone calls because I was busy. So if your a listener, and your request didn't get fulfilled, i apologize, but try again next week! Here are my online listener stats for the four hours I was in:

My main goal was to get music that wasn't in the station and that no one had heard of before but was still really good music (ex. Margot, Jill Barber, Bell X1, Fratellis, etc.). I hope the rest of my shows will be like this as well.

If you have a band you want to hear me play, shoot me some mp3s, or bring the CD by the station (rm. 354 Witherspoon on NC States campus). Id love to check it out and get it through the airwaves.

From a learning experience I thought I improved a lot from the first time I grabbed the mic this morning to when I left. I was more organized and better at delivering what I intended to say. Im still struggling a little and feel like I come off as awkward, but thats all part of the learning curve.

But I appreciate all the compliments from the phone calls, the IMs, the emails and everything. Ive gotten more feedback than I ever thought I would, especially it being my first show. Thanks to all the listeners, and keep listening to 88.1 WKNC! (and keep checking back to this blog!)
