Terpsikhore Collective Leap Year Extravaganza

Ah, so I guess Ill sit down and get to this. Despite the facts that I am a terrible writer, have poor word choice, and I have terrible grammar (thanks Hand Banana), I hope to rejuvenate my blog.
Of course Friday night we had to hit the Brewery, but this sequence of events begins at 96 Rock during the morning show. Ill just post this and leave it to explaining:
That afternoon I again forced my presence upon Stevo and Hand Banana during their show ("The Local Beat," Friday evenings from 5-8 only on 88.1) and was lucky enough to sit down with them during their interview with Simple, who just released their debut album "Songs From A Broken Hip." Impressive to say the least.
Mama Pearl and Cioffi rounded out the group after the show and we hit up the Brewery to catch I Was Totally Destroying It. Im becoming a big fan of this group, and if you are on the fence, seeing them live will blow you over to their side of the yard. I enjoy their creative use with the synth, and watching James Hepler just makes me feel warm inside; that dude seems just so content to be back there banging around.
Lonnie Walker came on stage next. I had actually never heard of them but all I can say is WOW. A very Bob Dylanesque sound, but more rock which I truly enjoyed. To compound on their compelling set, they stuck artist John Graham back behing them to draw up a pretty riveting mural titled "How Do You Measure Success?" which I had a hard time tearing my eyes from (Does anyone know what he did with it? I have dibs if it's up for grabs!). Mama Pearl, Stevo, and I cougar-magnumed* Brian Corum after the show to get some of their recorded stuff and set up a sessions date which I am looking forward to. To abjure from boring the 1 or 2 readers I have (thanks Granny!) i'll just say they were suprisingly fantastic, and I am looking forward to seeing them again.
Sedonna/Sunfold/Annuals did the next set with Sunfold getting on first (Im still confused as to the name change, but Ill just go with it.). Seeing these guys live has been an incredible experience for me everytime I have had the pleasure. Every show seems to build up to the point of a riot only to be calmed by their harmonious, and sometimes sudden, soothing transitions during a song. Mike Robinson can really rock out like no other and I never get tired of him jumping around. Adam Baker & Kenny Florence are born entertainers as well. Between Mike, that goddess of local music Anna Spence, and the sweet painting in the background, my ears, eyes, and mind began to spin with the tune of the carousel-like "Complete or Completeing" (my favorite song by Annuals). It was certainly a delectable moment. However my bliss was abruptly interluded by a screaming high-pitched noise coming out of the speaker directly in front of me. Everyone covered their ears and I felt my tinnitus explode in my previously ruptured right eardrum. It wasnt a good feeling and I left right after the show.
All in all I say it was a fantastic evening and all of the bands were spectacular. Just as a side note, I am back in Forsyth County for a couple days so I wont be at 96 Rock or 88.1 this week. I hope to be back Friday or Saturday though.

*Cougar-Magnumed: a new verb we created at 88.1 that means to harrass, badger, annoy, and generally piss off someone by forcing yourself upon them without consent.
