New Program Director at 88.1 WKNC

Approximate Reading Time: 1 min. 45 sec.
Well I am in a wonderful mood. Just today I was given the Program Director job at 88.1 WKNC. I have many plans for WKNC that I hope will become accomplished and which will allow WKNC to become a better station in the future. Some of these goals include:
-Become more involved with Local Music and the Triangle music scene
-Increase our connections with businesses and listeners within the Triangle
-Increase our presence on NC State’s campus
-Increase our presence on the internet
-Involve more of WKNC staff in the station’s functions and events

Of course, these are very broad ideas which I hope the details will come to light soon, and in time, be somewhat prophetic. It is my opinion that WKNC is the best radio station around and we must continue to improve and grow as we have done in the past. With our listeners continued support and the dedication of our staff to play quality music and produce a radio atmosphere that has no rival within the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, 88.1 can make a sincere positive impact on our community and the music industry.

I want to thank everyone for making our radio station what it is, and as the new Program Director it is my desire to make our radio station the best in the area.

By the way, I have had several people ask me when I will post my blog on Wednesday's show with Laura Reed & Deep Pocket. I hope to have that up tomorrow or Sunday. Sorry for the delay!

I could not make it to Local Beer Local Band last night, but I hear the Future Kings of Nowhere played a phenomenal show and some of their new material is great. I was bummed I could not make it, but just had to give that shoutout.
