So today was an interesting show with Sweet Melissa & Iris G, who have gratefully adopted me throughout the month of March as my show has been at the same time as NC State baseball games (we just love ourselves some baseball at KNC). I coerced them into playing "Hello Vagina," the new b-side off the Margot & The Nuclear So & Sos album "Animal" (possibly one of my favorite bands). Im truly looking forward to this album and if that song is a b-side, world watch out when "Animal" is released.
I have not been to a show in a couple weeks, and am really bummed. I am going out of town this weekend too, for Easter, so another weekend without any action. April looks to be a fine month of shows however, and this summer is not going to be a let down either.
Next week from 2:30-3:30 I am interviewing the band Laura Reed & Deep Pocket, a fantastic soulful/blues/funk/worldly sounding group out of Asheville NC. They are playing that night at the Pour House, which is always a great place to see a show. Please tune in and give a listen. I promise they will not disappoint no matter how bad the DJ. I hope to get them to play some tunes and give out some tix, but again, the interview starts at 2:30, not 3:00.
