Bourbon Chicken Wings

Approximate Reading Time: 1 min. 45 sec.
Yeah yeah, I know, posting on my blog nearly 4 days after the show. Lame. But between having to work til 1am, my car getting towed, getting my car back, going to the fair, and writing and presenting a speech all in the past 3 days I think I deserve a break.

So my show on Wed. was fun. I had some bourbon chicken wings for lunch like 20 minutes before, and man, did they taste like straight bourbon or WHAT?!? I guess they messed up my mouth or either made me a little tipsy. Which brings me to my next point- can you get drunk from eating chicken wings? Thats for another day though. Either way, I could not speak at all. It made things interesting.

Besides the fact I couldn't pronounce single syllable words I thought the music selection was really good. I had to play The 88s song "Haunt You" which I love and had to share. The rest of the songs were mostly by bands I knew, but not real well, so it was a real experiment for me.

I played Jeff Buckley's song "Last Goodbye" which apparently was a big hit. I had people calling in for awhile asking me who it was and what the song was. Great song by one of my favorite singers.

I had a request for Radiohead's new album In Rainbows, but couldnt find it to throw it on, and it was not in our system. I talked to our program director and he said he would stick it in there as soon as possible, so expect that next week. Speaking of the album, even though you can buy it digitally for $.01 if you choose, it is still being illegally downloaded more that it is being bought. I think this strange fact is pretty synonymous with our society today in regards to music. Though thats another topic.

I have some plans for this blog. Whenever I find the time, (probably in the next 2 weeks or so) I am going to add some cool features like my favorite track of the week and my favorite band of the week. I think this will be fun to discuss and every week on my show I will play both. But thats a couple weeks coming.

Im heading to Washington DC with Sweet Melissa, Kyle, Steve, and our wonderful boss, Jamie for the College Media Advisers/Associated College Press/College Broadcasters International convention next Thursday-Sunday so I hope to send some blogs from there.

But for now, here is Wednesdays playlist:
